Having videos on your blog post make it more interesting. Now a day people like to watch and listen more than to read. Videos add a new color to your blog posts. There are tons of things that can easily be explained a 1 minute video versus a 1000 words post. Images, audio, and video make the web rich. Adding videos to your website certainly adds value to your content and increases the likelihood that your audiences would react to it. In WordPress the Auto Embed feature has made it extremely easy to embed videos in your WordPress Blog posts.
For example just look at the wonderful song we brought to you here today.
It is just a YouTube video we took. All you need to do is paste the video URL into the content area in Editor mode. Both the visual mode and text mode can be used. But you need to make sure that the URL is in it’s own line and not clickable (hyperlinked).
Here is how we did it.
Wasn’t that super fast and easy.
We have list out all the video facilitators which supported by WordPress auto embedding feature. We call them as White-Listed Provider. If you upload your videos or other media on one of these sites, then WordPress will automatically embed. Otherwise, you would have to post the embed code manually.
- Flickr (both videos and images)
- Google Video
Other important fact we want to mention is don’t ever upload videos on to your WordPress site even it can be done. Most smaller blogs are on shared-hosting accounts and videos take a lot of server resource. If your video got tons of traffic, your site is more likely to crash. Second, you are missing out the traffic from YouTube users. We recommend that you pick a third party site such as Youtube, Vimeo etc to upload your videos.
